Learning to Listen: Lenten Morning Prayer 1
Raincoat-covered arms swish side to side
Shoes in which I'll never walk squeak closer and closer
Until all the movement slowly settles
Into the pew next to me
And begins breathing into prayer
The world is dark here, save a single burning
Candle under the cross
That is why we've come
We are searching for
Waiting for
The light
And in the darkness
We are learning to listen
Shoes in which I'll never walk squeak closer and closer
Until all the movement slowly settles
Into the pew next to me
And begins breathing into prayer
The world is dark here, save a single burning
Candle under the cross
That is why we've come
We are searching for
Waiting for
The light
And in the darkness
We are learning to listen
