Advent: Hope
Darkness has been dawning
for days now
Oppression covers the sun
And we are awake in the
night
We’re not sure how
But in our bones we feel
A thrill of hope.
The world is pregnant with
light like
We bear in our bodies a growing
glory,
A kicking glimpse felt in
each of us
of a glory new
When the sun rises, oppression
ceases
And the weary world
rejoices
The light in the distance
gives us peace
In our eager patience
To follow the star into
morning
